Times are hard these days and everyone can not afford a gym membership much less feel like going when they have one. I’ve had gym memberships before that felt more like a bill than anything else because I hated going. Some of the gyms I used to be a member with were always crowded, had dated equipment, creepy guys, smelly changing rooms, you name it. There are tons of reasons why you might not want to go to a gym and trust me when I say, you can still get in shape and lose weight. Here are 5 easy ways to do so.
1. Hire a freelance trainer
Not all trainers are tied to the gym. I had a trainer that would work exclusively with me outdoors. Not far from where I live there is a park with exercise equipment so that was perfect for me. I was able to workout while getting some vitamin D. Most freelance trainers are inexpensive, some as low as $20 a session. Some trainers also will come to your home or have access to home gyms themselves. If you find a trainer you like and trust why not give back to a small business while shedding the pounds.
2. Watch youtube videos
Youtube workout videos are free! There are literally hundreds of thousands of videos for you to choose from and most important on the list, you can sweat, moan, groan and look absolutely crazy from the comfort of your own home. I love watching youtube workout videos because they cater to you. You can find home workouts with dancing with dumbbells, or how to get toned abs and a bigger booty, whatever floats your boat, the world is yours on youtube.
3. Find a running trail
One of my close friends found a workout trail minutes away from her house and has been running three miles a few times a week ever since. I’m not a big fan of running. Ok, I hate running but if running is your thing, who needs a treadmill when you can workout in the great outdoors? Enlist a friend to be your running partner or go in busier hours if safety is an issue for you, then get outside and run, run, run!
4. Invest in workout equipment
Amazon and Walmart have made it pretty inexpensive to get in shape. You can buy sweat belts, dumbbells, heck even a treadmill that slides under your bed all for reasonable prices. If you love to workout using equipment do some pricing on Amazon and in stores and see what works for your budget. Workout equipment can really boost your workouts and if you know it’s not going to be collecting dust in your closet, then pick it up!
Fasted cardio is another great way to lose weight. When you work out in the morning before eating you are:
5. Fasted cardio
- Making sure you get your workout in before your day gets too busy.
- Putting yourself and your bodies needs first.
- Burning calories without having to digest a ton of food first.
Start your day with a quick workout to burn calories, have a more productive day, and speed up your weight loss!
