The thought of leaving a 9 to 5 job to start a business can be scary but you have to ask yourself why you started a side hustle in the first place. Was it for extra income? did you want the freedom to do what you love? or both? If your answer is both then you might want to think about leaving your 9 to 5 for your side hustle. Here are 4 signs it’s time to take your side hustle more seriously.
1. You focus more on your 9 to 5
When you focus on someone else’s business it is more likely to grow. When you focus on your business it is more likely to grow. See where we’re going with this? If you put more effort into your 9 to 5, your business will suffer. Working extra hours at your 9 to 5 job means you will have less time to respond to emails and fulfill orders for your business. This is just an example of how your full time job can affect your business.
2. You have enough money
If you know you have enough money to leave your 9 to 5 job you might want to start planning your release date now, lol. But don’t just leave without a plan think about how much money you’ll be spending monthly. Create a basic monthly budget list, on one side write down all your bills and on the other side write down a list of things you will need. Keep in mind when you’re growing a business the last thing you should be worrying about is materialistic things like new shoes or a bag. So when we say things you need that will include things like food and household supplies. After you create your monthly budget sheet you will see how much money you’ll have left to invest in your business. If it’s more than enough then what are you waiting on ?
3. Your 9 to 5 don’t allow you to network
In order to grow your business, you need to attend mixer events and luncheons. But if you can’t get out of work on time how can you attend these events? This is when you decide whether you want to be in control of your schedule or allow someone to tell you that you can’t go because they need you to stay at work till 6 pm. If you want to turn your side hustle into a real business you will need to make some sacrifices.
4. They know your name
People already know about your product or service. This means your side hustle has potential to grow and the bigger you get the more attention your business will need.
Sometimes you have to step out of your comfort zone and do things you never thought of doing before. Like leaving your 9 to 5. So are you ready to make a move and turn your side hustle into a business ?
