Essential oils can improve almost anything. But there are five essential oils you can use daily to take charge of your health and well being. 

Lemon: Lemon essential oil also known as citrus lemon oil, is extracted from the citrus lemon plant. Lemon oil is used mostly to ease stress and stimulate the immune system.

How to use: To relieve stress pour 2 drops of lemon essential oil in the diffuser and let it diffuse in the air to affect your mood. This also helps boost your immune system. 

Lavender:  Lavender oil scent comes from the oils in the lavender plant. It is used to help promote wellness and relieve pain.

How to use: To improve your sleep pattern dap a drop of lavender oil on your wrist or neck before bed. Another option will be pouring a few drops of oil in a spray bottle with water and spray it in your room before you go to sleep. For dry lips, use a teaspoon of coconut oil and 2 drops of lavender oil and stir them both together, then apply it on your lips. Lavender oil is also known for stimulating hair growth, so you can use the same combo to massage your scalp. For Nausea or motion sickness the best way to use lavender oil is by adding a drop to a napkin and putting it over your nose and mouth while breathing in and out. For minor burns and wound use 3 drops of lavender oil to mix in aloe vera. If you have an aloe vera plant at home pull a nice thick piece off, cut it open and pour 3 drops of lavender essential oil in it and apply it on the cut.

Tea tree: Tea tree oil is derived from the leaves of the tea tree and is used to kill bacteria, fungus, and skin reactions.

How to use: Tea tree oil can be used for hair care by putting 3 drops of tea tree oil into your shampoo or conditioner. Tea tree oil is popular for treating skin acne because of its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. So to get rid of acne you can put 3 drops of tea tree oil onto a cotton ball and dilute it with water or natural aloe vera. This method is also good to heal nail fungus. Tea tree oil is also good for wounds because of its antibacterial properties. For wound healing, you can mix 1-2 drops of tea tree oil with treatment ointment or petroleum jelly and rub it on your cut. Most people don’t know but tea tree oil also helps bad breath. If this is a problem for you or if you want to get rid of a disturbing smell after eating a certain type of food like seafood, you can add drops of tea tree oil on to your toothpaste. This help gets rid of the odor in your mouth. To help reduce sinus infections you can add drops of tea tree oil into a diffuser with water and let it release into the air(no more than 20 mins). last, tea tree oil can be used as an all-purpose cleaner. In a bottle, add vinegar, water, and tea tree oil and shake it until it’s mixed together. You can use this combo on your countertops, sinks, and floors. 

Peppermint: Peppermint oil has a minty, sweetness scent and is one of the most popular essential oils. It is used in teas, candies, soaps, and some medicines.

How to use: To ease and calm your mind you can add 2-3 drops into a diffuser and let it release into the air, for no more than 20 mins. This will also help boost your immune system and indigestion. For headaches, apply peppermint oil to your temple or the back of your neck ( but first, mix the peppermint oil with a carrier oil such as almond oil or jojoba oil.) This can also be used for pain relief and muscle aches. peppermint oil is known to work the same as Rogaine does because it increases blood flows to your hair follicles. So if you have hair loss concerns, the peppermint oil & jojoba carrier oil is also good to massage all over your scalp. For burns or allergic rashes, you can simply pour 2 drops onto a cool damp cotton ball and dab it on your burn or rash.

Frankincense: Frankincense oil has a sweet woody scent and its used in perfume and skin care products.

How to use: You can use Frankincense oil on your skin to help get rid of acne or reduce pain and inflammation. It should be used with a carrier oil, like jojoba oil, sweet almond, or avocado oil.  Frankincense oil can also go into your bath water(2-3 drops). To boost your immune system you can inhale frankincense oil by sprinkling 2 drops of oil onto a napkin. To let it disperse, drop 2-3 drops into a diffuser. The diffuser should stay on for no more than 20 mins, pass 20 mins can be harmful to your health.
