Essential oils for hair growth

We know we’re not the only one picking in our scalp looking for hair to come up. The process can be very long and annoying. But with the right essential oils, you can get your hair to grow faster. Here are six essential oils that will support your scalp and hair follicles.

 

1.Tea Tree

Tea tree oil improves the circulation of blood, which helps get rid of toxins and stimulate dormant hair follicles. Tea tree oil has properties like antiseptic, anti-fungal, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant that helps your hair stay clean and healthy. It also unclogs your pores, this help promote hair growth. To use, add a few drops into a carrier oil like coconut oil, mix the two and massage it into your scalp. Let it sit for 2-5 minutes then wash it out thoroughly with cold to warm water.

2. Rosemary

When you apply rosemary essential oil on your scalp it stimulates hair growth by keeping the follicles active while improving cellular metabolism. 

Apply 4-5 drops of rosemary oil on your scalp and massage it in until you feel your scalp tingling. You can also add drops to your shampoo and conditioner. If you want to grow your brows thicker you can also apply 1 drop on your eyebrow hair and massage it in.

3. Lavender

Lavender essential oil has the ability to soothe your scalp and keep hair shafts and follicles away from bacteria that could stop hair growth. Lavender essential oil also soothes your scalp. It can be used by adding drops to your shampoo or conditioner.

4. Cedarwood

When you apply cedarwood essential oil on your scalp it stimulates the scalp and increases circulation. It also helps with dryness, dandruff, and brittle hair. 

You can use cedarwood oil as a hair mask by adding two drops of cedarwood essential oil with a few drops of coconut oil. Massage the two in your scalp and let it sit for 30 minutes before washing it out.

5. lemongrass

Lemongrass oil help strengthen your hair follicles. It helps eliminate dandruff by keeping your scalp hydrated. You can massage 2-5 drops into your scalp, let it sit in for 2-5mins then rinse it out with cold water followed by a cold wash or shampoo.

6. Peppermint

Peppermint oil stimulates blood circulation to the scalp which helps increase the number of hair follicles. You can add 2-4 drops to your shampoo or conditioner.
